FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is a typical class like?
A: There is no such thing as a "typical" class -- because every day is different! Generally -- in a five day a week class -- M/W/F will be more cardiovascular exercise based. You may do fitness drills, take a jog/run, do stairs, hills, jump rope, etc. T/Th are usually strength training focussed. On those days you might do free-weights, pilates, plyometrics, resistance bands, weighted balls, etc. No two days are ever the same. Our classes consist of the best cross training methods in the country. You will also do ab exercises everyday, as well as injury prevention stretches and flexibility exercises.

Q: What level is the class/Will I fit in?
A: Every class has every level of fitness represented in it, from marathon runners to people who have never worked out before in their lives. You go at your pace in this class, with an instructor encouraging you to push yourself, while also learning to listen to your body. You'll be surprised at how well you will fit in, as long as you come with a good attitude and willingness to sweat!

Q: What qualifications do the instructors have?
A: All of our instructors are fitness certified, CPR certified and have several years of personal training and/or group fitness training experience. Some of us have been through specialized training - such as Navy Seal Training, Smokejumper Training, and more. Take a look at our Instructor Bio's.

Q: What if my alarm doesn't go off or I have to work late or feel sick one day -- can I do a make-up class?
A: As a general rule, we do not allow "make-ups." If you miss a class -- you can drop-in on another class that SAME DAY. The only other way we'll allow you to make-up a class is if you have a prearranged absence, such as a scheduled vacation or doctors note. You need to give us at least one week notice -- and clear it in advance with the Instructor or OutFIT office. Why? This is a course that makes you accountable. You don't just pay your money and then we don't care anymore -- this is not a gym -- we want you to work out everyday. That's how you'll get the best, quickest results!

Q: What happens when it rains?
A: We have a few indoor facilities around the city we can duck into when it rains. Sometimes, you will work out in the "elements." Those are some of the most rewarding (and fun) classes. Your instructor will keep you posted about what to do when the clouds roll in.

Q: Will I lose weight?
A: If that is your goal, you sure will. How much totally depends on your personal health and how you much you eat. We cover all that in our classes with special nutrition clinics and hand-outs. You will also work closely with your instructor to meet your specific goals.

Q: Do I need a physician's release?
A: It's always a good idea to get the green light from a medical professional before you begin any new exercise class. This is especially true if you have any health history that raises red flags for us. Your instructor will have you fill out a form that will let us know if you need to get a release.
